Tribune Publishing Changes Name To Tronc
(RTTNews) - Newspaper chain Tribune Publishing Co. has changed its name to tronc Inc and has also changed its ticker from 'TPUB' to 'TRNC.' The company behind The Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times will now trade on the Nasdaq.
The name tronc is actually an abbreviation of "Tribune online content."
"This is an exciting day in the evolution of our company, and we are proud to join Nasdaq alongside other innovators and tech companies as we create a new media model for the industry," said CEO Justin Dearborn.
"In ways we've never done before, we are gaining insight into the behaviors and preferences of our audiences," said Chief Technology Officer & President of New Ventures Malcolm CasSelle. "With that knowledge, we can create highly customized experiences for readers and new opportunities for advertisers."
