Unum Group Announces 2007 Investor Meeting

Unum Group (NYSE: UNM) announced today that it will hold its annual investor meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2007, at the New York Palace Hotel in New York City. The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and will be simulcast in a listen-only mode on the company’s website at www.unum.com. The webcast which will include both speeches and slides will be accessible on the "Investor Information” page of the site. It is recommended that interested parties login to the website approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. Management presentations, which will begin at 9 a.m., will cover capital management objectives, economic sensitivities and the company’s 2008 outlook. The meeting is scheduled to conclude at 12 noon at which time management will be available to interested investors during a luncheon to be hosted by the company at the meeting venue. A complete schedule of presentations will be posted on the company's website at www.unum.com in the Investor Information section on or before Nov. 14, 2007. A replay of the webcast and accompanying slides will be available on the company’s website for two weeks beginning Nov. 19, 2007.
