Walter Matthews, of DeWitt, Michigan Named a Fellow of the Casualty Actuary Society
LANSING, Mich., Aug. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Accident Fund Holdings, Inc. today announced that Walter Matthews, Corporate Actuary for Accident Fund Holdings, has earned the Fellow of the Casualty Actuary Society (FCAS) designation, the highest credentials offered by the Casualty Actuary Society (CAS). Through this achievement, Matthews joins an elite group of Fellows nationwide as well as becoming Accident Fund Holdings' seventh FCAS. He will travel this fall to attend the CAS Annual Meeting & Conferment Ceremony in Minneapolis.

Matthews joined Accident Fund in January 2010. As a Corporate Actuary he is responsible for reserving, reinsurance, and other business issues requiring a technical solution. He started his career in insurance as an actuarial technician at Kemper Specialty Insurance (formerly Unitrin Specialty) in Southern California.
Matthews earned two Bachelor's degrees, one in Mathematics and one in Economics, from the University of California – San Diego. Matthews lives in DeWitt, Mich. with his wife, Cynthia, and his two children, Anthony and Ariana.
