WESCO Int'l. Unit To Buy LaPrairie - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - WESCO International, Inc. (WCC), a provider of electrical, industrial, and communications MRO and OEM products, construction materials, and advanced supply chain management and logistics services, said that WESCO Distribution, Inc., via. its Canadian unit, has agreed to acquire LaPrairie, Inc. The transaction may close in January 2014.

LaPrairie, which generates nearly $30 million annual revenue from a single location in Newmarket, Ontario, is a wholesale distributor of electrical products servicing the transmission, distribution, and substation needs for utilities and utility contractors for the last 25 years across Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. The LaPrairie addition further expands WESCO's presence in Canada and strengthens our utility product and services portfolio.

Wesco said this transaction is expected to be accretive to earnings by around $0.03 per share in the first year of operation.
