Withoutabox & CustomFlix Team up to Offer Complete On-Demand DVD Fulfillment
This new standard-setting service, which will be introduced thisyear, plays to the strengths of both companies by offering streamlinedfulfillment of industry and film festival screeners as well asopportunities for bulk DVDs and individual retail purchases.Filmmakers will be able to manage all ordering, sales, and shipmenttracking directly from their consoles at withoutabox.com, where theyalready manage their international festival submissions, as well asfrom withoutabox.com/audience, where they manage their relationshipsto audiences and consumers. This pushes the power of the filmmaker tothe next level in creating a self-distribution network - fromgrassroots to supply-and-demand at the highest levels.
"For filmmakers, this means the long-awaited, fully-clickablefestival submission. No need to touch it or put anything in the mail,"said Joe Neulight, President of Withoutabox. "This service will enablesubmissions to be done for them from anywhere in the world."
All DVD units created for filmmakers under this relationship willfeature 4-color disc printing and lacquer coating, an Amaray-stylecase, 4-color cover insert, and professional over wrap. The industryand festival screener copies will additionally include custom-printeddata unique to each submission, as well as prominent industry screenerwarning labels.

As a result of this service, Withoutabox partner festivals canexpect to see a sharp rise in the manufacturing quality and technicalcompatibility of submitted DVD screeners, helping to eliminate afrustrating problem on both sides of the submission process. Fullytrack-able and reliable shipments will also reduce the number ofentries that go missing, even while the scale of the operationpromises to dramatically reduce shipping costs for filmmakers. Finalpricing will be announced upon launch of the service.

The relationship will further offer an opt-in path for Withoutaboxtitles to list on Amazon.com, the world's leading online retailer.Filmmakers who choose this option will be able to list and de-listtheir titles on Amazon.com right from their Withoutabox consoles,track their royalty payments in real-time, and collect their funds.Opt-In to the Amazon.com listing is not required to participate in theother offerings.
