Zumiez Sept. Sales Down 8%

(RTTNews) - Apparel retailer Zumiez Inc. (ZUMZ) Wednesday said its sales for September declined 8% hurt by a shift in retail calendar.

Zumiez reported sales for the five-week period ended October 6, 2018 of $77.7 million, down 8% from $84.4 million last year.

The decrease in net sales was driven by a shift in the retail calendar negatively impacting fiscal September 2018 growth by approximately $8.0 million compared with fiscal September 2017.

The company's comparable sales increased 1.2% for the five-week period ended October 6, 2018 compared to a comparable sales increase of 9.3% last year.
