Brighthouse Holdings, LLC -- Moody's assigns a Baa3 issuer rating to Brighthouse

New York, March 02, 2017 -- Moody's Investors Service has assigned a Baa3 long-term issuer rating to Brighthouse Financial, Inc. (BHF) and Brighthouse Holdings, LLC (BHI) with a stable outlook. The issuer ratings are based on an expectation that when separated from MetLife, Inc. (senior debt A3 stable), BHF will be the owner of BHI, which will in turn be the direct owner of several insurance operating entities, including MetLife Insurance Company USA (MLUS; A3 insurance financial strength, or IFS, stable) and New England Life Insurance Company (NELICO; A3 IFS stable).
