Belgium Business Confidence Falls Less Than Expected In April
(RTTNews) - Belgium's business confidence eased for a second straight month in April, but weakened less-than-expected, survey data from the National Bank of Belgium showed Friday.
The business confidence indicator fell to -4.6 from -4.4 in March. Economists had forecast a score of -4.8.
Among the components, only manufacturing showed improvement during April. The corresponding indicator rose to -6.3 from -6.8. The improvement was attributable to more favorable assessment of total order books and more robust demand prospects.
Confidence in the business services sector eased with the indicator falling to 8.6 from 9.
Sentiment in the building industry dropped to -11.6 from -10.7 in the previous month. Confidence in the trade sector dropped sharply and the index fell to -1.3 from 4.1.
