Brazil Consumer Confidence At 5-year Low

(RTTNews) - Brazil's consumer confidence declined in April to the lowest level in nearly five years, a survey from the FGV think tank showed Friday.

The consumer confidence index dropped to 106.3 in April from 107.2 in March, FGV said in a report. In February, the score was 107.1.

The April reading is the lowest since May 2009, when the print was 103.6, the firm said. The index thus held below it historical average for the 15th consecutive month.

The current conditions index dropped to 111.6 in April from 113.8 in March. Meanwhile, the expectations index fell for the fifth consecutive month to 103.6 in April, it was the lowest decline since February 2010.
