Georgia Consumer Prices Decline In July

(RTTNews) - Georgia's consumer prices decreased annually in July after a modest rise in the previous month, data released by the National Statistics Office showed on Friday.

The consumer price index fell 0.2 percent year-on-year in July, reversing a 0.2 percent rise in June. Prices steadily declined during the seven months till June.

Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages fell 1.1 percent annually in June. Transport prices dropped 2.9 percent, while healthcare costs rose 5.6 percent. Month-on-month, consumer prices decreased 1.3 percent in July, following a 0.6 percent fall in the previous month. Prices declined for the second straight month. The latest monthly drop was the biggest in two years.
