Japan Data On Tap For Monday
(RTTNews) - Japan is scheduled to release a batch of data on Monday, setting the pace for an otherwise light day in Asia-Pacific economic news. On tap are December numbers for current account and January figures for bank lending, the eco watchers survey and consumer confidence, as well as Q4 data housing loans.
The current account is expected to show a deficit of 685.4 billion yen after reflecting a shortfall of 592.8 billion yen in November. Bank lending in December was up 2.3; excluding trusts, lending was up 2.6 percent. The eco watchers survey came in at 55.7 in December. The consumer confidence index in December saw a score of 41.3. Housing loans in the third quarter were up 3.0 percent on year.
Malaysia will release December numbers for industrial and manufacturing production. In November, industrial production was up 3.5 percent on month and 4.4 percent on year. Manufacturing production gained 1.3 percent on month and 4.1 percent on year in the previous month.
