Alaska Air Reportedly Nearing Settlement With U.S. On Virgin Deal
(RTTNews) - Alaska Air Group Inc. (ALK) is close to reaching a settlement with U.S. antitrust officials that will allow it to complete its proposed $2.6 billion acquisition of Virgin America Inc. (VA), the Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
The settlement with the Justice Department's antitrust division should be announced by the end of November, the report specified.
The report added that the details of the settlement couldn't be learned. Spokespeople for the airlines didn't immediately respond to requests for comment. The Justice Department declined to comment about the merger review.
