Brush Engineered Materials Inc. Appoints Mark M. Comerford President of Brush International, Inc.

Brush Engineered Materials Inc. (NYSE:BW) announcedtoday that it has appointed Mark M. Comerford President of BrushInternational, Inc. Brush International is a wholly-owned subsidiaryof Brush Engineered Materials.

Brush International, Inc. has service centers in Germany, England,Japan and Singapore that primarily focus on the distribution of alloyproducts while also providing local support to portions of othersubsidiaries of Brush Engineered Materials operating internationally.

In addition to his senior management role with the internationalbusinesses, Comerford oversees sales, marketing and technical servicesfunctions for Brush Wellman Inc.'s Alloy Products group. Brush WellmanInc. is the largest wholly-owned subsidiary of Brush EngineeredMaterials Inc.

Comerford joined Brush Wellman as Managing Director, BrushWellman-Singapore in 1998 and has progressed through variouscommercial roles during his tenure at Brush. Prior to joining BrushWellman, he worked at Carpenter Technology and American Brass invarious metallurgical engineering, international and commercialmanagement positions.

He is a 1984 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with aBachelor of Science degree in metallurgical engineering and materialsscience and holds an MBA from Canisius College of Buffalo, New York.
