CIGNA's Jodi Prohofsky Among Business Insurance’s "Women to Watch”

Jodi Prohofsky, Ph.D., LMFT, has been named to the 2008 Business Insurance list of "Women to Watch.”

Now in its third year, the magazine’s annual "Women to Watch” issue profiles women executives who are doing outstanding work in insurance, reinsurance, risk management, employee benefits and related fields.

"Jodi Prohofsky is one of the most talented, creative and compassionate health care professionals I’ve ever worked with,” said Keith Dixon, Ph.D., president of CIGNA's health solutions organization. "I consider myself very lucky to have her on my leadership team and I congratulate her on this well-deserved honor.”

As senior vice president of operations for CIGNA's health solutions organization, Prohofsky is committed to helping people live happier, healthier and more productive lives. Since joining the company in 1992, she has spearheaded programs that have helped the company gain national recognition for innovations in clinical care and health advocacy. She has championed an industry-leading depression disease management program, and she has been instrumental in creating evidence-based health and wellness programs, including tobacco cessation and stress management. She has also implemented a unique coaching program that helps people identify their personal motivators for making successful behavioral change.

Under Prohofsky’s leadership, CIGNA has earned the Business Insurance Readers Choice Award for best Employee Assistance Program for the past four years. Most recently, she had responsibility for merging CIGNA Behavioral Health and CareAllies – CIGNA's behavioral and health advocacy businesses – into a single operational organization, which improved effectiveness and efficiency while maintaining an industry-leading level of customer service.

Prohofsky has previously been recognized in her community with an award for Women in Business from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, as well as the Elaine McCormick-Wray Award from the Working Family Resource Center of St. Paul for her support of work/life parent education programs in the Twin Cities.

Prohofsky and the other Women to Watch received their awards today in New York.
