Costco Wholesale April Comps. Flat; Net Sales Rise 3%

(RTTNews) - Costco Wholesale Corp. (COST) reported that total comparable sales for the month of April 2016 were flat, with a flat in U.S., a 2 percent rise in Canada, while Other International comparable sales declined 3 percent.

Monthly total Comparable sales, excluding the negative impacts from gasoline price deflation and foreign exchange, were up 3 percent, with a 2 percent rise in U.S., a 7 percent increase in Canada, and 1 percent rise in Other International comparable sales.

Net sales for the month of April, the four weeks ended May 1, 2016 were $8.98 billion, an increase of three percent from $8.74 billion during the similar period last year.

For the thirty-five weeks ended May 1, 2016, the company reported net sales of $77.94 billion, an increase of two percent from $76.32 billion during the similar period last year.
