Costco Wholesale Corporation Q3 Earnings Advance 6%

(RTTNews) - Costco Wholesale Corporation (COST) released a profit for its third quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $545 million, or $1.24 per share. This was higher than $516 million, or $1.17 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.22 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.6% to $26.77 billion. This was up from $26.10 billion last year.
