Costco Wholesale Corporation Q4 Profit Rises 18%

(RTTNews) - Costco Wholesale Corporation (COST) released earnings for its fourth quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $919 million, or $2.08 per share. This was higher than $779 million, or $1.77 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.02 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 15.7% to $42.30 billion. This was up from $36.56 billion last year.
