Costco Wholesale January Comps. Flat, Net Sales Increase 2% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Costco Wholesale Corp. (COST) reported that total comparable sales for the month of January 2016 were flat, with a 1 percent rise in U.S., a 6 percent drop in Canada, while Other International comparable sales were flat.

Monthly total Comparable sales, excluding the negative impacts from gasoline price deflation and foreign exchange, were up 4 percent, with a 1 percent rise in U.S., a 11 percent increase in Canada, and 10 percent rise in Other International comparable sales.

Net sales were $8.32 billion for the month of January, the four weeks ended January 31, 2016, an increase of two percent from $8.15 billion during the similar period last year.

For the twenty-two weeks ended January 31, 2016, the Company reported net sales of $49.98 billion, an increase of two percent from $49.01 billion during the similar period last year.
