Costco Wholesale July Comps. Flat; Net Sales Rise 1% - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Membership warehouses operator Costco Wholesale Corp. (COST) reported that its total comparable sales for the month of July 2015 was flat, with a 3 percent rise in U.S., a 10 percent drop in international comparable sales.
Monthly total Comparable sales, excluding the negative impacts from gasoline price deflation and foreign exchange, were up 7 percent, with a 6 percent rise in U.S., a 7 percent increase in international comparable sales.
Monthly net sales were $8.64 billion, an increase of one percent from $8.55 billion during the similar period last year.
For the forty-eight weeks ended August 2, 2015, the Company reported net sales of $104.95 billion, an increase of three percent from $101.43 billion during the similar period last year.
Total company comparable sales for the period was up 1 percent, with 3 percent growth in the U.S., while International comparable sales declined 4 percent.
Excluding the negative impacts from gasoline price deflation and foreign exchange, total company comparable sales for the period grew 7 percent, with 7 percent growth both in the U.S. and International business.
