Costco Wholesale June Comps. Up 6% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Membership warehouses operator Costco Wholesale Corp. (COST) said that its comparable sales for the month of June 2014 increased 6%. Monthly comparable sales rose by 6% in the U.S., and by 7% in the International segment.

Excluding certain items, comparable sales for the month advanced by 6% for the total company, with a 6% increase in U.S and a 8% growth in international region.

Net sales for the month of June, the five weeks ended July 6, 2014 was $10.89 billion, an increase of ten percent from $9.91 billion during the similar five-week period last year. Both years' five-week periods included 34 selling days in Canada and the U.S., reflecting the observance of Canada Day and Independence Day (U.S.), respectively.

For the forty-four weeks ended July 6, 2014, net sales were $92.88 billion, an increase of seven percent from $87.04 billion during the similar period last year.
