Device Cloud by Etherios Wins Two Awards at 2013 M2M Evolution Conference
MINNETONKA, Minn., Aug. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Device Cloud by Etherios™, a machine-to-machine (M2M) platform by Etherios, a division of Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII), won "Best Horizontal Implementation" and "Best Vertical Implementation" awards at the Battle of the Platforms during the M2M Evolution conference. The contest featured cutting-edge platforms from nine companies, which were evaluated on their abilities to manage and deliver M2M solutions.
The panel of judges, consisting of experts and leading analysts of the M2M industry, awarded Device Cloud both "Best Horizontal Implementation" and "Best Vertical Implementation." Device Cloud was recognized for its ability to enable organizations to quickly and easily connect any device, manage and control large populations of devices, and drive business process improvements across the organization.
"We believe that M2M technology should be easy to use and easy to implement," said Joel Young, CTO and senior vice president of research and development, Digi International. "Device Cloud is a simple, secure and scalable solution. We've done all of the heavy lifting, so our customers can focus on using device data to drive the operational efficiencies and business results that they expect out of a solution. We are honored to be recognized with two awards at one of the industry's leading M2M shows."
"This year's contest allowed us to showcase the breadth of our M2M portfolio encompassing Device Cloud and The Social Machine®," added Larry Jovanovic, vice president of cloud product management at Etherios. "The Social Machine enables organizations to connect products into existing business processes on the Salesforce Platform making machine data actionable across the entire organization."
Etherios presented the capabilities of Device Cloud and showcased the platform through a demonstration and a case study during the half-day event at the M2M Evolution conference in Las Vegas, Nev., on August 26. The demonstration illustrated how applications connect embedded systems through Device Cloud, enabling critical business data from devices to be gathered and acted upon immediately. The awards follow Device Cloud's win as TMC's "M2M Evolution Product of the Year" this July.
