Draftfcb New York Hires Terry Martin as SVP/Director of Business Development
NEW YORK, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Draftfcb New York today announced the agency has hired Terry Martin as senior vice president/director of business development. Martin most recently served as svp/segment leader at Omnicom Group, leading multiple Omnicom agencies in the delivery of integrated marketing communications for Bank of America. At Draftfcb New York, he will be charged with identifying and developing organic growth and new business opportunities, while educating prospective clients about the agency's capabilities-from its full-service offering to discipline-specific expertise. Martin will report to Draftfcb New York General Manager Wendy Lurrie and will work closely with Draftfcb's newly appointed Chief Global Growth Officer Toby Sachs.
"Our new model provides a truly unique offering. Depending on client need, that offering can take many forms. Terry will help us to identify and nurture new business opportunities and focus on creating the right solution for each potential client," said Lurrie. "Terry has been deeply involved in exactly the kind of complex and dynamic client businesses that can benefit the most from the unique client-centric approach that Draftfcb offers. His depth of experience across a broad range of categories together with his ability to forge true partnerships with clients, make him a welcome and important member of the Draftfcb New York team."
"While most agencies are coming up with ad hoc or piecemeal solutions, Draftfcb has built a seamless model that allows the agency to address a client's individual marketing needs," said Martin. "Draftfcb's culture-focused on building and delivering more innovative ways of solving clients' business problems-was not just attractive, it was inspiring."
Martin has more than 15 years experience leading diverse agency teams in solving clients' brand and business problems across the financial services, shipping, packaged goods and retail industries. Recruited from BBDO in October 2005 to lead Omnicom's Bank of America team overseeing the Global Wealth and Investment Management (GWIM) and Corporate and Investment Banking (GCIB) businesses, he led teams on a variety of assignments, from the development of value propositions to the overhaul of sales collateral systems. His agency teams successfully re-launched the online brokerage and mutual fund businesses and created experiential programs to acquire high net worth prospects.
At BBDO from 2004 through 2005, Martin served as svp/senior account director on FedEx. There he developed platform strategies to support the client's expansion into services beyond express shipping. He oversaw the merger of FedEx Kinko's, the activation of NASCAR and NFL sponsorship programs and the creation of top-scoring Super Bowl commercials: "Top Ten" and "Stick." From 1998 through 2004, he served as senior partner at Ogilvy & Mather, where he was involved with the launch of OPEN: The Small Business Network from American Express. He has also worked at Hill Holliday, and Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor on such clients as Procter & Gamble, Spalding Sports, AutoNation USA and Fidelity Investments.
Martin earned a bachelor's degree in history from Kenyon College. About Draftfcb
