Hartford Turns To Profit In Q4 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - The Hartford (HIG) Monday said fourth-quarter net income was $314 million or $0.65 per share, compared to net loss of $46 million or $0.13 per share in the same period last year.

Core earnings for the quarter increased to $456 million or $0.94 per share from $256 million or $0.52 per share in the prior year quarter.

On average, 19 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.90 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues totaled $6.09 billion, down from $7.70 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $5.00 billion.
