Humana Military Healthcare Services Goes "Above and Beyond” in Support of National Guard and Reserve

Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) – Humana Military Healthcare Services, the TRICARE contractor for the South Region, received an "Above and Beyond Award” by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) organization. This award, given in limited numbers by state and territory ESGR committees, recognizes employers at the state and local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements for granting leave and providing support for associates serving in the National Guard and Reserve forces.

"Humana Military is thrilled to receive this honor by ESGR for policies supporting our associates serving in the Guard and Reserve,” said Dave Baker, president and CEO of Humana Military. "We want our associates to have the comfort of knowing we respect and stand behind their decision to serve our country and will be there for them should they be called to duty.”

"We are proud to give this award to Humana Military for going above and beyond in support of our men and women in uniform,” said George V. Childress, III, ESGR Employer Outreach Director of the Kentucky Committee.

Examples of the ways in which companies go above and beyond in support of their employees include: publishing leave and military mobilization policies, pay differential during periods of military training and mobilization, assigning a company sponsor to families of Guard and Reserve employees that are deployed, and hosting a company Guard and Reserve day.
