Ingles Markets Posts Profit In Q3 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Ingles Markets Inc. (IMKTA) posted higher sales and swung to a profit in the third quarter of fiscal 2014 from a loss a year ago.

For the recent quarter, net income stood at $13.83 million, compared with a loss of $14.42 million, a year earlier. Quarterly earnings per Class A common share were $0.61, as against a loss of $0.62, in the prior-year quarter, with earnings per Class B common share totaling $0.57 this quarter, versus a $0.56 loss, last year.

Third-quarter net sales went up by 4.7% to $978.3 million, from $934.0 million in the prior-year quarter.
