Javier Garcia to Head Sonoco's Industrial Products and Paper Operations in Mexico

HARTSVILLE, S.C., Nov. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sonoco , the global packaging company, today announced that Javier Garcia, formerly managing director - Industrial Products/Paper, Sonoco Mexico, has been promoted to division vice president and managing director - Industrial Products/Paper, Sonoco Mexico.

Garcia joined Sonoco Mexico in 1980 as the manager of the Company's Monterrey, Mexico, tube and core plant. Before joining Sonoco, Garcia, a mechanical engineer, was employed at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as tire manufacturing superintendent. In his new position, he will report to Marty Pignone, vice president, Paper, North America, and John Colyer, division vice president and general manager, Industrial Products, North America.
