Kellogg Expands Industry-Leading Portfolio of High-Fiber Cereals With

BATTLE CREEK, Mich., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Kellogg Company today announced the introduction of an innovative new addition to its kids' portfolio, Kellogg's Tiger Power, a delicious whole-grain cereal that is a good source of important nutrients kids need more of, including protein, calcium and iron, as well as fiber.

The launch of Tiger Power underscores Kellogg's longstanding commitment to help consumers get more fiber in their diets, a key goal of the government's dietary guidelines released today. With Tiger Power, Kellogg now offers 50 varieties of cereals in the U.S. that contain whole grain and/or fiber -- including more varieties that qualify as a good source of fiber than any other breakfast cereal manufacturer.

"The new 2005 Dietary Guidelines call for increased consumption of whole- grain and nutrient-rich foods and also identify calcium and fiber, among other vitamins and minerals, as 'nutrients of concern' for children," said Chris Lowry, vice president global nutrition. "We believe that Tiger Power provides moms and kids with a nutritious, great-tasting whole-grain option that can become part of their daily routine."

Kellogg's Tiger Power begins reaching store shelves this month and will have a suggested retail price of $3.19 per 10-ounce box.

With 2003 sales of nearly $9 billion, Kellogg Company is the world's leading producer of cereal and a leading producer of convenience foods, including cookies, crackers, toaster pastries, cereal bars, frozen waffles, meat alternatives, pie crusts, and ice cream cones.

The company's brands include Kellogg's, Keebler, Pop-Tarts, Eggo, Cheez- It, Nutri-Grain, Rice Krispies, Murray, Austin, Morningstar Farms, Famous Amos, Carr's, Plantation, Ready Crust, and Kashi. Kellogg products are manufactured in 17 countries and marketed in more than 180 countries around the world. For more information, visit Kellogg's web site at http://www.kelloggcompany.com/ .
