Microsoft Q3 Results Top Estimates

(RTTNews) - Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) reported net income for the third quarter of $4.99 billion or $0.61 per share, compared to $5.66 billion or $0.68 per share for the year-ago quarter.

The latest quarter results include $190 million of integration and restructuring expenses, or a $0.01 per share negative impact, related to Microsoft's restructuring plan announced in July 2014 and the ongoing integration of the Nokia Devices and Services business.

Revenue for the third quarter rose 6% to $21.73 billion from $20.40 billion in the same quarter last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.51 per share on revenue of $21.06 billion for the third quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
