Procter & Gamble Co. Q2 Income Advances 7%

(RTTNews) - Procter & Gamble Co. (PG) released a profit for its second quarter that gained ground from last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $3.17 billion, or $1.19 per share. This was up from $2.96 billion, or $1.08 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.14 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.1% to $17.39 billion. This was up from $16.86 billion last year.
