RLI Corp. Q2 Profit Rises - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - RLI Corp. (RLI) Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $29.90 million or $1.38 per share, up from $24.75 million or $1.15 per share in the same period last year.

Operating earnings improved to $27.5 million or $1.27 per share from $25.2 million or $1.17 per share last year. On average, eight analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.10 per share for the quarter.

Consolidated revenues for the quarter were $171.14 million, up 9.9 percent from $155.75 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $193.47 million.

Net premiums earned totaled $154.55 million, up 9.2 percent from $141.58 million last year. Net investment income dropped 13.3 percent to $12.85 million from $14.83 million last year.
