The technology vendors participating in the Serial Storage Experience will showcase their respective products, services and solutions at HP Technology Forum 2005, as below:
Broadcom Corporation
Broadcom has established itself as a technology leader in Serial Attached SCSI with the introduction of the industry's first SAS/SATA RAID-on-Chip (RoC) device which includes both PCI Express(R) and PCI-X(R) host interfaces. This highly integrated, multi-functional RoC device provides the cost, space and power savings required to accelerate the transition of enterprise-class RAID technology to a RAID-on-Motherboard (RoMB) solution. As a result of its cost-effective, single-chip design, the new Broadcom(R) RoC will increase RAID adoption on cost-sensitive server and workstation platforms.
Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc.
Fujitsu is a worldwide leader in the development and production of 3.5" and 2.5" high-end enterprise and mobile storage hard disk drives. Fujitsu has also established itself as a pioneer in the emerging serial technology market with its delivery of the industry's first 2.5" Serial ATA (SATA) mobile hard disk drive as well as the first 2.5" Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 10K enterprise hard disk drive. The interoperability of the Serial interfaces increases the options available to system integrators and solution providers by allowing systems to use the hard disk drives interchangeably as needed. At the HP Technology Forum, Fujitsu will demonstrate the performance and flexibility of its 2.5" and 3.5" SAS hard disk drives. For additional information, visit: http://www.fcpa.fujitsu.com/.
Hitachi GST
Hitachi provides the broadest spectrum of hard drives in the industry and is recognized as the storage capacity and performance leader. Hitachi will feature 3.5-inch 7,200 RPM SATA and 2.5-inch 10K RPM SAS interface prototypes in the New Opportunities for SAS Solutions Booth (#827) at HP Technology Forum 2005. Hitachi continues to be a leader in the transition to serial interface technologies and is currently shipping SAS and SATA drives in volume on multiple product platforms. Hitachi was a founding member of the Serial Attached SCSI Working Group.
