Silk Road Hyperloop In The Future?

(RTTNews) - Hyperloop One, the Los Angeles-based start-up that is working to build a functional Hyperloop transportation, has inked a deal with Russian holding company Summa Group to build a Hyperloop transport in the city of Moscow.

Hyperloop technology is a high-speed transportation system incorporates reduced-pressure tubes in which pressurized capsules ride on a cushion of air that is driven by a combination of linear induction motors and air compressors.

It promises to take a passenger from Los Angeles to San Francisco in just thirty minutes and was first proposed by tech mogul Elon Musk back in 2013.

The feasibility study is the next step toward developing a bankable plan and a rights of way that would get the funding to become Russia's first Hyperloop, the company said in a statement.

Moscow marks Hyperloop One's fourth project to date. Project scoping studies are underway in Finland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
