Trade In Old Clothes For Target Gift Cards
(RTTNews) - Discount store operator Target Corp. (TGT) has partnered with online consignment store ThredUP to give customers store gift cards in exchange for their used clothing.
Target will accept high-quality children's or women's clothing, shoes and accessories in return for store gift cards. Interested customers can avail the opportunity to get some money for holiday shopping.
The items can be dropped off at select Target stores or FedEx offices, while Target will pay for the shipping. Alternatively, the "Clean Out Bag" can shipped for free directly from a mail carrier.
ThredUP said on its website that its professional buyers will carefully evaluate each item and determine the quality and the store's ability to resell it.
The company added that it does not guarantee any minimum payout and that it typically accepts about 50 percent of the clothing it receives.
Items that are listed on ThredUP for under $60 will be paid for upfront, while the items that are listed for more than $60 are paid for on consignment. This means the payout will be received once the item is sold.
For items that have been accepted, customers will get an email with their gift card information. They will also get their Target gift cards via email.
Meanwhile, unwanted items will be recycled responsibly, according to the ThredUp website. But consumers can always ask for their clothing and accessories back.
The gift cards can be used online at Target's website. To use it in store, the link in the Target Giftcard email must be clicked and the link will automatically convert into a barcode that can be easily scanned by cashiers.
