Tyco International Names George Oliver as New President of Tyco Safety Products

PEMBROKE, Bermuda, June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tyco International Ltd. has named George Oliver as president of Tyco Safety Products, effective July 10, 2006. Oliver, 45, will report directly to Ed Breen, Tyco's chairman and chief executive officer, and will be based in Boca Raton, Fla. Oliver succeeds Ron Krisanda who has been promoted to lead the fire and security segment's operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

"George's extensive background across a broad range of product and service industries and geographies should enable him to acclimate rapidly and help maximize growth and performance for the business," says Breen. "His appointment to lead Tyco Safety Products is consistent with our objective to create a more agile, focused organizational structure as we move closer to the separation of Tyco into three independent publicly traded companies."

Prior to joining Tyco, Oliver served in operational roles of increasing responsibility at several General Electric (GE) divisions. Most recently, he was president and chief executive officer of GE Water and Process Technologies, where he led all aspects of a $2 billion water and process technologies product and services business with more than 7,000 employees. Oliver also served as president and chief executive officer of GE Engine Services with global responsibility for the $5 billion aircraft engine services business. Additionally, Oliver held positions in GE's Aircraft Engines and Appliances divisions.

Oliver earned his Bachelor's of Science in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
