New York, September 04, 2014 -- Moody's Investors Service said that General Dynamics Corporation's (A2 stable) GBP3.5 billion SCOUT Specialist Vehicles award is a credit positive development for General Dynamics and its key subcontractors on the program, including Lockheed Martin Corporation (Baa1 stable), Thales (A2 negative) and Raytheon Company (A3 stable), among others. Although the award is not necessarily a new credit negative development for BAE Systems plc (Baa2 stable), after having pitted its own CV90 against the SCOUT back in 2008 and losing the competitively bid contract in 2010, the absence of a meaningful role on this important British Ministry of Defence program remains noteworthy, nonetheless, for the UK's leading defense contractor.
