After-market Movers For Aug 8(PCLN, LGF, NVDA, MCP, RAX, DATA, WMGI, OLED, UBNT)
(RTTNews) - Gainers:
priceline.com Inc. (PCLN) gained 5 percent to $984.01. The company's second quarter earnings improved from the prior year period and its non-GAAP earnings per share topped Wall Street view. Total revenues increased from the year-ago quarter and managed to come above the consensus estimate. The company forecast third quarter earnings in-line with market view.
Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (LGF) rose 2 percent to $35.10. The company swung to a profit in its first quarter and adjusted earnings per share beat analysts' estimate. Revenues increased 21 percent and also came above the consensus estimate.
Rackspace Hosting, Inc. (RAX) was up over 10 percent to $48.95. The company's second quarter profit declined from the year-ago quarter, but topped analysts' estimate. Net revenue rose 18 percent and came above the consensus estimate.
Universal Display Corp. (OLED) surged 20 percent to $35.35. The company's second quarter earnings increased from the prior year period and topped analysts' estimate. Net sales for the quarter rose 65 percent and surpassed the consensus estimate.
Ubiquiti Networks, Inc. (UBNT) advanced 23 percent to $26.10. The company's fourth quarter results were ahead of Street view. The company also forecast first quarter earnings and revenues above market view.
Tableau Software, Inc. (DATA) rose 14 percent to $69.40. The company slipped to a loss in its second quarter and its adjusted earnings declined from the year-ago quarter. Meanwhile, revenues rose 71 percent and added over 1,500 new customer accounts.
Decliners:
NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA) fell over 2 percent to $14.35. The company's second quarter earnings and revenue were lower than the prior year period, but managed to come above Street view. At the same time, the company guided third quarter revenue to miss market view.
Molycorp, Inc. (MCP) declined 12 percent to $6.50. The company's second quarter net loss widened from the prior year period. Revenues improved from the prior year period, but missed the consensus estimate on a wide margin. Net revenues declined 6 percent sequentially primarily due to lower product volumes and slightly lower average selling price.
Wright Medical Group Inc. (WMGI) was down 11 percent to $24.05 based on the news that it has received a not approvable letter from the FDA in response to its Pre-Market Approval application for Augment Bone Graft for use as an alternative to autograft in hindfoot and ankle fusion procedures.
Dendreon Corp. (DNDN) fell 13 percent to $4.00 as the company's second quarter results came below Wall Street view. The company said it does not expect to see enough of a sales increase in the second half of the year to meet its goal of growing PROVENGE year over year. The company noted that the competitive environment remains largely unchanged from the first quarter.
Monster Beverage Corp. (MNST) was down almost 5 percent to $60.50. The company's second quarter earnings per share and sales were below analysts' expectations.
