CSC Names Joe Doherty President of Americas Outsourcing

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of the company's comprehensive new growth strategy, called Project Accelerate, Computer Sciences Corporation today announced that it is realigning company resources to strengthen its outsourcing business. Under this strategy, CSC will continue to enhance its large-scale outsourcing capabilities while focusing on increased growth in midsize opportunities.

Joe Doherty, 47, previously vice president, aerospace and defense industry within CSC's Technology Management Group, has been named President, Americas Outsourcing. He will be responsible for execution of the company's outsourcing strategy in the Americas, including growth in target market segments, as well as the integration of account management and service delivery organizations across the region.

Doherty will report to Richard Ricks, President of CSC's Global Outsourcing Services.

"This appointment supports our renewed focus on providing exceptional service to our clients," said Ricks. "Americas Outsourcing will lead the changes we will make globally to realign our organization and deliver tangible business results to our customers."

Prior to his most recent position within CSC's Technology Management Group, Doherty was vice president and senior account executive for the Raytheon outsourcing account. He joined CSC in 1998 as operations director within the United States Navy-Marine Corps/Air and Missile Defense business unit, and has held several executive-level positions within the company.

Before joining CSC, Doherty completed 20 years of service in the United States Navy, serving 11 years as an enlisted computer systems specialist and nine years as a Naval Communications Officer. He is chairman of CSC's Aerospace and Defense Council, and a member of the National Security Committee for the Aerospace Industries Association, the Board of Directors for the National Capital Navy League, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association and the National Defense Industries Association. He holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland, a master's degree in business administration from Strayer University and a certificate in executive leadership from the Johnson Graduate School of Management from Cornell University.
