Prudential Offers LTC Insurance Through Connecticut Partnership and Indiana State Insurance Programs for Long-Term Care
Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:PRU) announced today that its long-term care insurance business has joined forces with the Connecticut Partnership for Long-term Care and the Indiana Insurance Program for Long-Term Care. The unique provision available through these programs and referred to as Medicaid Asset Protection, offers residents the ability to pay for long-term care expenses without depleting their assets in the event they need to apply for Medicaid. "Prudential complements this offering by including many of the powerful features we know consumers look for, such as international coverage, waiver of premiums, a simple calendar day elimination period and home support services,” said Andy Mako, senior vice president of Prudential’s Long-Term Care insurance business. "These options are important because they can provide consumers maximum flexibility if the need for long-term care services arises, particularly the ability to remain in their own home.” The Connecticut Partnership for Long-Term Care and the Indiana Insurance Program for Long-Term Care are state programs that work in alliance with the private insurance industry. It is a joint effort by State government and private industry to create an option to help meet the future long-term care needs of consumers without depleting all of their assets to pay for care. Prudential Financial companies, with approximately $547 billion in total assets under management as of March 31, 2006, serve individual and institutional customers worldwide and include The Prudential Insurance Company of America, one of the largest life insurance companies in the United States. These companies offer a variety of products and services, including life insurance, mutual funds, annuities, pension and retirement-related services and administration, asset management, banking and trust services, real estate brokerage franchises, relocation services, and, through a joint venture, retail securities brokerage services.
