Symantec Appoints Don Rath As Interim CFO & CAO - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Symantec Corp. (SYMC) has named Don Rath, vice president of global tax, as interim Chief Financial Officer or CFO and CAO, effective January 2, 2014. He takes up this role following the departure of Andrew 'Drew' Del Matto, Symantec's current acting CFO and CAO, who would leave the firm on December 31st to become Fortinet's (FTNT) Chief Financial Officer.

Rath joined Symantec in August 2012 and previously held senior tax and finance roles with Synopsys, Chiron and Veritas.

Steve Bennett, president & chief executive, stated: "We've made substantial progress in the search for our permanent CFO, which we launched in October, and have identified several promising individuals from among the pool of candidates. We anticipate that we will announce this appointment in the next 30 to 60 days. Our appointment of Don as interim CFO and CAO shows the depth of Symantec's management team."
