Walk the Red Carpet in Your Living Room with 2010 Academy Award-Nominees and 50+ Past Academy Award-Winners Available on Comcast On Demand

Comcast today announced that several of this year’s Academy Award-nominated films such as The Hurt Locker, Julie & Julia, Inglourious Basterds, A Serious Man, District 9 and Up among others are now available On Demand on television (TV) as part of its Oscar Films & More collection. The collection also features more than 50 past Oscar winners, biographies of Academy Award-winners, past red carpet interviews as well as a special collection of "B” movies from this year’s honorary Lifetime Achievement Academy Award recipient and "B” movie king, Roger Corman.

Consumers can also watch trailers and scenes from this year’s Oscar nominees, a 2010 Academy Awards TV Guide special and more on Fancast XFINITY TV at http://www.fancast.com/specials/awards.

"For our customers, we extend the Academy Awards into a multi-week, multi-platform entertainment binge of the best-of-the-best leading up to the show," said Derek Harrar, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Video and Entertainment Services for Comcast. "On Comcast, past and present Oscar movies, trailers and shorts are only a remote or mouse click away."

Past Academy Award-winning films featured in the Oscar Films & More collection include: Braveheart, Dances with Wolves, Driving Miss Daisy, Forest Gump, Gladiator, Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River, No Country for Old Men, Out of Africa, Platoon, Rain Man, Scent of A Woman, The Departed, Traffic, Walk the Line and Wall Street. Films from this year’s honorary Lifetime Achievement Academy Award winner, Roger Corman include: The Raven featuring Jack Nicholson, St. Valentine’s featuring Jason Robards and The Wild Angels featuring Nancy Sinatra and Peter Fonda amongst others. Other 2010 favorites that didn’t make the Academy’s cut such as The Hangover, (500) Days of Summer and Away We Go are also available now and can be found On Demand under "Movies” > "All New Movies.”

Additionally, beginning March 3 Comcast customers will have access to all of this year’s Academy Award-nominated live-action and animated shorts including: Door, Instead of Abracadabra, Kavi, Miracle Fish, A Matter of Loaf and Death, French Roast, The Lady and the Reaper, Sleeping Beauty and others.

The Oscar Films & More collection is part of Project Infinity, the company’s commitment to innovation and the delivery of exponentially more quality content, including more movies across platforms. Comcast’s signature On Demand library currently offers more than 17,000 entertainment programs and 3,000 choices in HD available over the course of a month. Comcast’s extensive On Demand library features everything from movies, music and top TV shows to the most popular kids, sports, lifestyle and local programs. Comcast also offers 19,000 TV shows and movies to its cable customers to watch online for no additional cost.

The company will continue to focus on increasing the number of content choices available to customers through its Xfinity service that Comcast is rolling out in markets across the country this year. With Xfinity, customers can receive new services that include 100+ HD channels, 50 to 70 foreign-language channels, On Demand video choices increasing to 20,000+ and increased broadband speeds up to 50-100+ Mbps. This year Xfinity services will also include new cross platform and mobile apps like the ability to program your DVR from the Internet or mobile device, Caller ID to the TV and other interactive television applications.
