AmeriChoice by UnitedHealthcare and Connecticut Children's Medical Center to Provide Services to HUSKY Participants

AmeriChoice by UnitedHealthcare and Connecticut Children's Medical Center have announced an agreement that will provide participants in Connecticut’s HUSKY health insurance programs with access to the hospital’s inpatient and outpatient facilities and its affiliated physicians.

Effective Jan. 30, 2009, AmeriChoice by UnitedHealthcare members will be able to receive services at all Connecticut Children's locations throughout the State. Connecticut Children's was rated one of the nation’s best children’s hospitals in 2008, by U.S. News and World Report.

"Connecticut Children's is one of the most comprehensive and prestigious medical systems in the U.S.,” said Don Langer, president of AmeriChoice by UnitedHealthcare in Connecticut. "Our HUSKY members will have access to the full range of services Connecticut Children’s provides.”

Health plan participants will have access to more than 100 physicians and specialists affiliated with Connecticut Children's. The hospital joins a list of 23 other Connecticut hospitals and health facilities and over 4300 physicians that have recently signed with AmeriChoice.
