Walker succeeds Robb Hilson as the state president. Hilson, who also served as the Credit Services executive for Global Corporate and Investment Banking, has accepted a new role as the West Region Credit Services executive and has relocated to San Francisco.

As Florida state president, Walker will oversee one of Bank of America's fastest-growing geographies by providing business, civic and philanthropic leadership for the company throughout the state. Walker will provide strategic direction for Bank of America's 16 Florida markets and will work to strengthen communication and integration among the company's local business lines. As state president, she will work to continue to improve the customer experience in Florida, grow revenue in the state and enhance Bank of America's reputation in communities.

"We are delighted that Susan will be our new state president in Florida," said Walter Elcock, Bank of America Market President executive. "She is a terrific choice for this role and has a proven track-record of forging strong relationships with community leaders, customers and associates. I am certain that Susan will demonstrate the same business acumen and leadership she has shown throughout her career as she moves into this important position. "

Hilson served as Florida state president since February 2006.

"Robb Hilson has been a wonderful leader for Bank of America in Florida," said Elcock. "We thank him for his efforts and appreciate the commitment he has shown to our customers, associates and communities across the state."

Walker joined Bank of America in 1980, and has held a number of line and support roles in the Consumer Bank, Private Bank and Risk Management Group both in Florida and North Carolina. She lives in Jacksonville, Florida, where she has been active as a community leader and advocate for education and the arts. She has served on Boards of Directors for Communities in Schools, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and for the Florida Space Finance Corp. The latter was an appointment by the Florida Governor.
