Boeing Appoints Lianne Stein as President of Boeing Germany
CHICAGO, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Boeing Company today announced Lianne Stein has been appointed as vice president of Boeing International and president of Boeing Germany. Stein will identify and pursue new growth opportunities, lead the country strategy planning process, coordinate company activities in Germany and focus on strengthening local- market presence. She will be based in Berlin.
Stein succeeds Horst Teltschik, who retired earlier this year after leading Boeing's wide-ranging business activities in Germany for more than three years. As the first country president in Germany, Teltschik developed strong relationships and partnerships with German companies, universities and research institutes, and implemented projects in the community.
"Germany is home to some of our most important customers. It's also a business center renowned for industrial innovation," said Boeing Chairman, President and CEO Jim McNerney. "Many German technology companies are suppliers and partners for Boeing programs, including four suppliers to the 787 and the large cargo freighter. Lianne will focus on further strengthening and expanding our business and government relationships and partnerships in Germany," McNerney said.
Laurette Koellner, president of Boeing International, said, "Lianne will join a team of country and regional executives in more than 20 offices worldwide, strengthening Boeing's global presence and focusing on business- growth opportunities. With her background in government relations, sales, and marketing, Lianne is uniquely qualified to lead the Boeing team in Germany and pursue new growth and productivity initiatives to expand our business."
Sales and marketing responsibilities for Boeing products and services will remain with the company's Commercial Airplanes and Integrated Defense Systems business units.
Stein joins Boeing International from Connexion by Boeing where she was vice president of Commercial Aviation. Prior to Connexion, Stein was vice president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes for Washington, D.C. Operations. In this role, she was responsible for all Boeing commercial aircraft activities in Washington, D.C., relating to commercial aircraft sales campaigns and U.S. government advocacy. Before joining Boeing, Stein served as vice president and senior European marketing representative for International Lease Finance Corporation and was manager of flight training course development at Flying Tigers air freight airline.
Stein is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles and a licensed private pilot.
