C. Scott O'Hara to Join Heinz As Executive Vice President

C. Scott O'Hara will join the H. J. Heinz Company(NYSE:HNZ) on January 1, 2006 in the newly created position ofExecutive Vice President - Asia Pacific and Rest of the World. He willreport directly to Heinz Chairman, President and Chief ExecutiveOfficer William R. Johnson and will serve as a member of the Office ofthe Chairman. Mr. O'Hara (age 44) will be based at Heinz WorldHeadquarters in Pittsburgh. He will have responsibility for Heinzbusinesses in Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Latin America,Africa and the Middle East.

"Scott O'Hara is a key addition to our management team. He ishighly regarded by his peers and brings with him 20 years ofexperience in the consumer products industry, with more than 6 yearsmanaging international businesses," Mr. Johnson said. Mr. O'Hara is currently Senior Vice President - Europe forGillette Group International, based in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior tothis he held a number of senior management positions with Gillette inLondon, and Rijswijk, Netherlands. His Gillette career includedmanagement positions with the company's Gillette, Braun and Oral-BLaboratories businesses in the food, drug, mass merchandiser and clubchannels. In 1984, he earned a BSBA degree from the University ofSouth Florida, Tampa.
